Counteract’s Aftercare Program Provides Support and Encouragement

Kathy recently reached an important milestone as she returned home to her family after completing her time at a detention center in Guatemala.

Her family is thrilled to have her back. As the oldest daughter, Kathy plays an important role at home, helping her mother care for her two younger siblings and contributing to daily family life.

Kathy is currently continuing her 11th-grade studies and is on track to graduate later this year. She is already looking ahead to the future, with plans to attend college and study business administration. Her goal is to one day help provide financial support for her family.

As Kathy begins this next chapter, Counteract’s aftercare program is continuing to walk alongside her. During a recent visit, Isabel, a Counteract success coach, delivered groceries to Kathy, her mother, and her younger siblings. Kathy also signed her follow-up services agreement, marking the beginning of continued support and encouragement as she pursues her goals.

A few days later, Isabel accompanied Kathy to purchase school supplies so she could continue her studies with everything she needed for the year ahead. Afterward, they shared lunch together and spent time reviewing her plans for the future.
