Meet Wilbor: From Orphanage to Incarceration to Worship Team
Wilbor, an 18-year-old with a challenging past, has found new purpose and direction through his faith and involvement in the church.

When he was very young, his mother died giving birth to her third child. With an absent father, Wilbor and his sister were sent to an orphanage.
Wilbor’s life took another difficult turn when he was accused of assault at the orphanage. He was arrested and sent to a juvenile detention center.
During his time of incarceration, Wilbor encountered teachers from Counteract who provided him with support and encouragement. Wilbor grew in his faith, developed a relationship with God, and began to see a brighter future.
Today, Wilbor plays an active role in his church, serving as part of the worship team. His involvement in the church has given him a strong sense of community and purpose.
Reflecting on his journey, Wilbor says, “I am grateful to God for giving me a second chance. The church has become my family, and I’m committed to serving and growingin my faith every day.”
