Working Toward A Brighter Future
A job can be a lifeline. For many youth impacted by incarceration, employment is the key to breaking free from vicious cycles of poverty, crime, and hopelessness that have shaped their lives from an early age. But a juvenile record can make that path incredibly difficult.
That’s why at Counteract International, we don’t stop at spiritual mentoring and life skills. We walk alongside each young person as they prepare for the workforce, and we help open doors where we can.

Marvin, 21, earned his national electrician certification while incarcerated. Today, he’s working on construction projects and even remodeling his church. Next, he plans to study refrigeration and air conditioning to expand his skill set and job opportunities.
Jaslin, a 22-year-old single mother, works 48-hour shifts as a security guard while completing high school through distance learning. With Counteract’s support covering transportation and educational costs, she’s making it work. She’s also growing in her faith, joining her aunt for a weekly prayer group.

Sandro, a 2023 Success Academy graduate, discovered his passion in the kitchen. After completing a hospitality course, he now works in a bakery. He also recently re-enrolled in school with hopes of one day becoming a professional chef.
Daniel, 24, is a Success Academy graduate who was connected to an apprenticeship in the plastics industry through the Counteract team. He now works full-time at a plastics factory as a Quality Control Supervisor. His strong work ethic has paid off. What began as six-day workweeks has turned into a rotating shift schedule that gives him more time with his two-year-old daughter.
“Being with her fills me with strength to do my job with excellence,” Daniel says. These young people are charting new paths, fueled by faith, determination, and opportunity. Their jobs are a key part of that transformation. Thanks to your support, Success Coaches are walking with them and opening doors that once seemed shut.
